CREDO is America's greenest and eco-friendliest mobile phone company.
CREDO's commitment to a better world is not about symbolism. Since 1985, Credo Mobile has donated more than $67 million total to nonprofits like Mercy Corps and Planned Parenthood—$10 million alone to environmental groups like Sierra Club and Rainforest Action Network. Credo Mobile has backed up their donations with real activism. The 2 million activists in CREDO Action are leading the way on important environmental causes like:
- Reducing carbon emissions by 80% below 1990 levels before 2050, as called for by Nobel Prize-winning scientists
- Preventing Big Oil's exploitation of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
- Fighting the industry's campaign to greenwash coal, build new coal plants, and mine coal by removing mountaintops
- Organizing to better protect our vanishing wildlife by strengthening the Endangered Species Act
- Demanding a national standard on renewable energy and a timetable to achieve it
Why Choose CREDO Mobile:
One well-known national mobile company contributed more than $200,000 to the 2010 campaigns of global warming deniers in Congress, including Senators Rand Paul, Ron Johnson, and Marco Rubio.1 Another well-known mobile company donated to Rep. Michele Bachmann, who signed a letter of support for the Keystone XL pipeline. But at CREDO, we use our base of 2.5 million activists to fight Monsanto's reckless GMO technology, stop the Keystone pipeline, and shut down coal-fired power plants. And we raise millions of dollars annually for progressive nonprofits like Rainforest Action Network, Planned Parenthood and the League of Conservation Voters. Join the fight. Join CREDO Mobile, America's greenest phone company.
* With two-year CREDO Mobile service agreement. Offer available only to new CREDO Mobile customers and subject to credit qualification. Activation fee of $35/line applies. Living in NYC, Recycled your Batteries or Face a Fine
Beginning on December 5, 2011, New York residents are required to recycle their rechargeable batteries—including cell phone, digital camera and rechargeable alkaline batteries—or pay a fine. The law was signed by Gov. David Patterson last year, and also mandates that retailers that sell rechargeable batteries must accept them back from their customers for recycling purposes. The fines for state residents for rechargeables found in the trash start at $50 for the first offense, $100 for a second within 12 months of the first, and $200 for the third or more offenses within a year of the first.
Say no to junk mail!
Each year American households receive a total of 104.7 billion pieces of junk mail or 848 pieces of junk mail per household, requiring 6.5 million tons of paper.
Not only are these a nuisance they are also a tremendous source of waste as trees, chemicals, and water are used during production and printing, and fuel energy is wasted during the delivery and recycling process.
Help save paper, water and fuel resources by stopping the waste at its source - tell these companies to stop sending you things you don't want. Anyone, including businesses, can sign up and create a free account at www.catalogchoice.org and start opting-out today.
